need Fbc onnect for dummies

I cant get past just logging in. I have read the readme and followed directly. I have even installed several times and scoured google.

questions:
- do i need to enable registration for users with no approvalor with approval to have FB connect work? All i get is a click and no redirect as i now have set to only admin cans create IDs.

- is there a way to only have FB logins and not local?

Thanks for any and all replies even if you point me to a link to go read that i havent found yet, many thanks!

Thanks
Abel

You just have to get the settings right

- do i need to enable registration for users with no approvalor with approval to have FB connect work? All i get is a click and no redirect as i now have set to only admin cans create IDs.

If you configure fb_user.module to create accounts automatically, the drupal approval setting will not matter. It will create the local account immediately.

- is there a way to only have FB logins and not local?

Yes, for example my own blog is configured this way, http://dave-cohen.com/node. I log into drupal to administer, but if you use facebook connect to comment there, it does not create a drupal account for you.

(On this site, it does create a local account for you)

thanks can you try and help me again

thanks got the module working on a basic site at www.shoplinxs.com but my themed site at www.masdynamo.com has an odd behavior:

clicking on FB connect will not open the FB connect page to allow access but if i login to facebook on a tab and then go back to site and hit drupal login comes up with an error asking for user name and password and then 10 seconds later i see the facebook integration kick in and then i am logged in t site via FB with out allowing or accepting connectivity from FB popup??

OMG

I figured it out the difference between the two sites was the new one had no other FB apps and the older one themed had one off FB apps i put together using FB social apps code, apparently I had a conflict in the like and the FB stream with FB for drupal module so after disabling them BINGO. Wow this has been two months of me struggling hope this helps someone else. Great app Man! I'm excited to keep it working!
