Drupal for Facebook now easier to install

Recent changes make it easier than ever to install modules/fb.

Until now, you had to edit Drupal's settings.php file before enabling the modules. This is a tricky step that confused or surprised many Drupal admins. As of now, that change to settings.php is required only when supporting canvas pages. So for those of you interested only in Social Plugins or Facebook Connect, I'm happy to report you can skip this step. (Sorry, canvas pagers, we couldn't get rid of this entirely.)

Truth be told, we've just made this change, and hope users like you can help test it out. To do so, download the latest 6.x-3.x-dev release and follow the instructions in modules/fb/README.txt. Report any problems to the issue queue.

Many thanks if you do!

Social Drupal sites

I always hated the separation and duplication that we have between our facebook and the www.sixdegrees.org.au site. This module set looks great for bringing the two together nicely. Well done!

If anyone has any ideas/examples of how to make good use of this for creating social change, don't be shy!
