Backport to D5 of Drupal for FBPlatform
I'd love to get a very complex set of multisites with shared databases, domains etc running through Aegir into FB using this module. Given that upgrading the sites is not easy as the tables are horribly intertwined, wanted to check if there was anyone out there who would do this for a bounty. Pls PM me.
Thanks

Long ago, the modules were started on D5. You can still find that code on Drupal.org. That mostly supported canvas pages, not facebook connect. But the D6 version is much much further along.
You'd have trouble getting the D5 version to do much, as is. A backport is not trivial, but theoretically doable. Personally I'd recommend you upgrade your sites, rather than backport modules.
Dave, we looked at upgrading
Dave, we looked at upgrading the site a few times, and i checked with the team. It is just too messy and risky to do that. It is difficult enough just upgrading from one D5 release to the next. This is one of those situations like Microsoft having to support IE6 even today because so many companies still use it for whatever reason. In our case, D5 has a good reason - a mesh of intertwined sites using some shared and some unique tables, running on a customised Aegir (because Aegir doesn't like this shared tables business). Neither D5 nor domain access nor Aegir were meanto to behave the way we've got them to for our unique business requirement.
I'd like to fund a backport if I can find someone who knows how to do it, and quotes a reasonable amount. I think it will be valueable to other companies like ours who are stuck without a way to upgrade their Drupal install. Thoughts?

Thanks
Thanks Dave. Need to look into upgrading...not going to be easy though!
