seriously - why does the CONNECT button show up sometimes, and other times not at all?

first of all, let me start this by saying in bold, but not yelling, I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON HAVING THIS PROBLEM.

THE ISSUE: *sometimes* the fac ebook connect button shows up, *most* of the time it doesn't!

there is no other information to say about this. this is how it goes down, every time!

versions of whatever being used:
FBC: 7.x-3.x-dev
DRUPAL: 7.9

i am posting this only here, because drupal.org forums are horrible. i hope someone can help here faster than at drupal, where i would be told by some smarmy admin to ask here anyway.

I think what's happening is various calls to FB api that take a callback, JS calls like FB.getLoginStatus() and FB.api(), they never do call the callback.

A bunch of fb.js code expects these callbacks to actually be called, and the code in there is growing more convoluted to handle the cases when it isn't.

I just pushed an attempt to handle this better. Give the latest .dev a shot.

When I go to the site for the first time after deleting my cookies the login comes up usually. After changing pages or reloding the FB connect login button disappears.

i also have to add, that when looking at the forums on my site, it will list them as "By ____ (blank space)" where no user name is being displayed.

these are hit and miss issues, and i dont get it. this is a great system, i love it when its working, but i need some one to help me UNDERSTAND why this is happening, without being downplayed or overlooked due to my level of frustration with drupal.

i refreshed the page after logging out of FB and ITS GONE!!
